ITU Countering Spam Activities

The acknowledgement that spam is a problem with global implications has given rise to many activities in the fight against this menace. ITU is carrying out a number of activities on countering spam, to foster international cooperation, harmonized policy and technical frameworks, to promote the exchange of information and best practices, and to support developing countries in the field of spam.

Additional countering spam information resources are available on the following ITU webpages:

Initiatives in ITU Member States for Countering Spam
A multi-faceted approach to counter spam needs to be adopted. This includes: consumer and business education; appropriate legislation; law enforcement authorities and tools; the continued development of technical and self-regulatory measures; best practices and international cooperation. Run a spam query in the ITU Cybersecurity Gateway database to find out which organizations are involved in countering spam activities worldwide.

ITU Survey on Anti-Spam Legislation Worldwide
The purpose of the survey is to gather information regarding spam and related legislation worldwide, including identifying the authorities responsible for anti-spam measures in each country. Submit updated spam information for your country.
